SALT LAKE CITY VACATION PAGE 7
These are photos from the area that Old Faithful resides. My granddaughter was very excited about seeing this geyser which probably is the most recognized name from Yellowstone National Park. Just as we were pulling in the parking lot we could see it going off. We found out from the Information desk that it goes off approximately every 91 minutes. We decided to have lunch in the cafeteria style dining area. The food was not horrible but not gourmet either. The whole area was under construction with the roof of the building we ate in being replaced.

This room was just outside the cafeteria area and had couches and chairs to just hang out in. It had huge windows on the other end that overlooked Old Faithful. The entire room was wood except the immense rock fireplace, which had fake logs in it. I have no idea how tall the ceiling was. It was a huge room.

This is a resting Old Faithful

starting to get a little more action

and a little more..
had to turn my camera sideways as it grew taller

Really blowing now!!

They had signs posted along the wooden walkway all around the area were the geysers and springs were.

You can see how blue this is. It is so clear you can see every crease and crevice in it... what you cant see is the bottom..

The area is all covered in this white sediment from the geysers... it looks like snow in the photos but it is a mineral deposit from the geysers.

The steam rises off of this one and the whole area has an odor about it.
