SALT LAKE CITY VACATION PAGE 6

This 2 year old Grizzly Bear cub was a main attraction as we were driving through the park. If you see a large group of people gathered with HUGE cameras all staring into the same direction, on the side of the road, more than likely it is some sort of wildlife. Bears cause the biggest crowds to gather in a hurry.

I thought this youngster looked haggard and thin. I talked to the park ranger that was there and he said that this was one of two cubs and that they were just coming out of hibernation and usually looked thin.....hum thin and hungry..

The bear kept his head down the entire time I watched as he sniffed the ground.

There were probably at least 50 people watching this bear, taking photos and he never raised his head to look up.

In the foreground of the photo you can see what appears to be smoke.. I thought oh NO the ground is on fire... NO that would be a geyser.. a small one but still a geyser..

Another frozen lake ... should have brought my ice skates..:o)

Thank goodness for all the pull outs so you can stop and gaze at all this beauty.

If you look to the right side of this photo you will see a wooden deck. This deck stuck out from the edge of the cliff and put you in position to see the falls. The next photo is of the falls. What I thought interesting about this was the fact that the deck had a sign that said "This structure not regularly maintained". kinda scary thought.. so I waited till everyone was off the deck!!!

the sound from this falls was intense and so was its beauty

This is looking straight down from the deck to the bottom of the canyon

looking downstream from the falls
