pulled into one of the many sightseeing areas and these little creatures were everywhere. They looked like squirrels with very short tails. The last one looked like he was smiling for me!!

One of the many roadside information signs. This one lists some of the creatures that inhabit the area. It has listed white pelicans which I had NO idea lived in this area. In fact I was unaware that white pelicans even existed. I did not see any till we got back to SLC and went to Antelope Island.. I unfortunately did not get any photos of them.

This photo I am not downsizing. It is one of my favorites. Mother Nature sure makes it easy to be a good photographer in this wondrous area.

more beautiful scenery

If you look closely you can see the tracks in the sand and snow. It looks like it could be a small bear or wolf prints. The nails are extended on each paw.

You can see in this photo some of the results from the fire of 1988.
Many dead standing trees and debris left from the fires.

The new growth from the 1988 fire is apparent in many parts of the Park and is great to see the renewal of life.

This is a photo of all the great new growth in the forest.

Many burned dead trees were still standing and many more were in heaps on the ground.

Grizzly Adams... oh wait it is Charles!! outside of Yellowstone

Who is that handsome mountain man... standing in the snow?
