Puppy Supplies

Supplies for your new puppy.

  • Eukanuba Small bites puppy food.  Feed dry at least twice a day, three if possible. Put down for about 10 minutes and then pick up. Water should be give more often.
  • Stainless steel no-tip food and water bowls (such finishes won’t break or absorb odors)
  • Puppy treats for use in training. Natural Balance dog food in a roll is a great treat.  It is actually dog food but can be frozen and lasts a long time.  It is not greasy so can be carried in your pocket and the dogs love it.  I get mine at Petco.
  • Identification tags, adjustable collar for travel, 6-foot-long nylon leash between ½-3/4 inches wide with a breakaway feature (Tip: Make sure the collar is sized correctly. One way to measure is to make sure two of your fingers can slip between the collar and the puppy’s neck.)  I NEVER leave a collar on a dog unsupervised.  I only use a collar with I D tags when traveling.
  • Harness type collar with I D tags for walks
  • Micro Chip Home Again.. I offer this service for your dachshund for $25
  • Home and travel crate large enough to accommodate your puppy when its full grown.  I offer these crates for $35.
  • Nap Sack is a sleeping bag made of Polar Fleece that can be taken everywhere you go.  I offer these for $30
  • Stain remover specially formulated for doggie odors
  • Bristle brush for your puppy’s coat
  • Dog shampoo, toothbrush and paste
  • High-quality chew toys to ease teething. It is important to make sure playthings will not break apart easily and small parts swallowed.  If you use stuffed toys please monitor play as they are easily destroyed and stuffing consumed. The stuffing is NOT digestible and is potentially dangerous to your dogs health.
  • Cow hooves for chewing… NO Pig ears.. to much fat
  • Parasite controls such as flea medicine
  • Nail clippers, no guillotine type, the scissor type is the easiest to use
  • Expandable baby gate to isolate puppy or exercise pen
  • Additional vaccines on second trip to vet
  • Heartworm preventative
  • Spay/neuter at 6 months
