Code of Ethics for

            Hidden Cedars AKC Mini Dachshunds

This code of ethics is brought to your attention so that all will know Hidden Cedars methods of principals and practice in relation to our AKC Mini Dachshunds. We have set our own high standards of ethics in all our practices as they are related to our dachshunds.

Hidden Cedars abides by and upholds all the principals of The Dachshund Club of America.

Hidden Cedars abides by and upholds all the principals of The American Kennel Club.

Hidden Cedars abides by and upholds all the principals of the National Mini Dachshund Club of America

All our dachshunds will be AKC registered. All sires will be DNA tested.

Hidden Cedars devotes ourselves to the betterment of the breed.

Hidden Cedars provides our dachshunds with a healthy, clean environment with room to run and play. Hidden Cedars keeps them in the best of health, current vaccines,  on heartworm preventive and parasite free.  Their well being, both physically and mentally, is first and foremost in our concern and care for them.

Hidden Cedars will screen potential homes for all our puppies to make sure they are going to the best lifetime loving homes.  Hidden Cedars would never intentionally place their puppies with brokers, pet shops or in a harmful situation.   All puppies, other than show quality puppies, will be placed with a limited AKC registration and a spay/neuter contract.

Hidden Cedars will have binding contracts on any and all dealings to do with our AKC Mini Dachshunds. We will keep accurate written records of mating, births, registrations, sales contracts and any other written records that may need to be kept.

Hidden Cedars accepts responsibility for every dog that I breed. Hidden Cedars makes a lifetime commitment to every dachshund that is from here. I will always strive to answer any questions, help with any problems as long as I am mentally and physically able.  If I do not know the answer to your question I will do everything in my power to try to find the answer for you or point you in the right direction.

Hidden Cedars accepts responsibility for every dog that I breed.  If ever the owner cannot keep a Hidden Cedars dachshund at any time in the dog’s life, the dachshund is to be returned to us or we will do everything in our power to assist in the placement of the dachshund. They are NEVER to be placed in a shelter or with any rescues.  We will take any of our Hidden Cedars dachshunds back at anytime for any reason, as we would never want any of our dachshunds to end up in shelters, rescues or homeless.

Hidden Cedars will always be honest in the details and descriptions of our dachshunds.  Hidden Cedars strives for honesty and openness in regard to all our dachshunds health and personalities. No puppy will be released before ten weeks of age or shipped before twelve weeks.

Hidden Cedars will behave in a responsible manner to protect the quality of life, health, temperament and genetic integrity of this breed and to educate myself  in the means of accomplishing these goals.

Hidden Cedars will attempt to help educate interested dachshund fanciers in aspects of things to do with dachshunds.  I do not claim to have all the answers to all the questions but I do claim to be a good researcher and constantly on the quest for knowledge.  If I do not have the answers to your questions, which I may not, I will do what I can to point you in the right direction to hopefully find those answers, that you seek about dachshunds.   I will attempt to help educate.

I may continue to add to this Code of Ethics as I continue to learn.
